( Bqp.vn ) - On the morning of November 19, in Hanoi, the Ministry of National Defense held a press conference to introduce the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024. Major General Le Quang Tuyen, Deputy Director of the General Department of Defense Industry (GDDI); Colonel Nguyen Xuan Thuy, Deputy Director of the Propaganda Department (General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army) and Colonel Dang Thanh Minh, Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs (Ministry of National Defense), co-chaired the press conference.

According to information from the press conference, the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 (VIETNAM DEFENCE 2024) will take place from December 19 to 22, 2024 at Gia Lam Airport (Phuc Dong, Long Bien, Hanoi ). The exhibition is a key activity, creating a highlight of international significance and stature, organized simultaneously with activities and events on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army, 35 years of National Defense Day.
The exhibition aims to strengthen and expand international cooperation, defense diplomacy, build trust between Vietnam and countries around the world ; share defense foreign policies and guidelines; advocate building the Army and developing the defense industry; create conditions for countries, companies, domestic and international enterprises to introduce, display products, and seek opportunities to expand cooperation. At the same time, strengthen international cooperation in defense industry, diversify channels of cooperation in purchasing, receiving, and transferring technology to produce technical equipment and logistics equipment to meet the requirements of armed forces; learn about the development trends of weapons and technical equipment in the world to propose, select, purchase, produce, and improve weapons and equipment for the Army; promote and propagate the capacity, technological potential, weapons and equipment produced by Vietnam's defense industry to international friends and domestic people; seek opportunities to export defense industry products.

As for international guests, up to now, 42 delegations have officially registered to visit Vietnam and attend the exhibition. At the exhibition, domestic and international defense enterprises will display and introduce combat vehicles, technological solutions, weapons, equipment for the Navy, Army, Air Defense - Air Force, cyber warfare and logistics and technical equipment. Vietnamese products displayed and introduced at the exhibition include products researched and manufactured by agencies and units of the Ministry of National Defense and commercial and service companies of the Ministry of National Defense.
The exhibition area has a total area of over 100,000 m² with an indoor display area of 15,000 m² and an outdoor display area of over 20,000 m². To date, nearly 200 domestic and foreign units and enterprises from 27 countries have registered to have booths at the exhibition. The indoor display scale is double that of the 2022 exhibition.
During the 4 days of the exhibition, in addition to the activities at the opening ceremony (Vietnam Air Force flying to welcome, Vietnam People's Army Special Forces, Vietnam People's Army Border Guard Dogs performing to welcome), there will be many activities such as: Workshops, signing, exchanges, meetings between delegations and partners on the sidelines of the exhibition. In addition, the Organizing Committee will arrange exhibition areas to introduce the culture, country, people and Vietnam People's Army; at the same time, organize art performances at the exhibition area.
People can visit the exhibition from 1:00 p.m. on December 21 to December 22.
