On the afternoon of November 15, the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) in coordination with the Vietnam Fund for Supporting Technical Creativity (VIFOTEC), the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Ministry of Science and Technology held the closing and awarding ceremony of the 21st National Youth and Children's Creativity Competition in 2025.

In his opening speech, Dr. Phan Xuan Dung, President of VUSTA, President of VIFOTEC Foundation, Head of the Competition Steering Committee, emphasized: This is an important event, a "big festival" for youth and children across the country, a place to honor creative ideas and persistent efforts of the young generation in research and application of science and technology.

This year, the contest attracted 847 entries from 34 provinces and cities. This number continues to affirm the influence of the Contest over the past 21 years.

At the closing ceremony, the Steering Committee and the Organizing Committee awarded 105 prizes, including 5 first prizes, 10 second prizes, 30 third prizes and 60 consolation prizes, with a total value of 715 million VND. These are works selected based on the impartial and objective evaluation of the Jury.

This year, the 5 first prize winning topics are all highly applicable, related to practical issues. Among them, the topic "Smart waste sorting system using solar energy" by a group of students from Chu Van An Secondary School ( Hai Phong ) impressed with its creativity and wide applicability in the community.

A group of students from Cao Bang High School for the Gifted and Hop Giang Secondary School, Cao Bang province brought a model of "Earth stratigraphy and introduction of UNESCO Global Geopark Non Nuoc Cao Bang", contributing to educating local students about geology in a vivid and intuitive way.

The information technology field recognized the topic "AI assistant supports exploring textbook content through the lens of curiosity" by a group of students in Hanoi, demonstrating new thinking when applying artificial intelligence to support learning.

In the agricultural category, the Dak Lak group won first prize with the “Semi-automatic durian shelling machine”, aiming to solve a very practical problem in the durian growing area of ​​the Central Highlands. Meanwhile, a group of students from Hanoi attracted attention with a device for growing trees in ponds, lakes, rivers, and seas, an idea aimed at ensuring food security for island areas in the future.

In addition to the main awards, the Competition Steering Committee also awarded certificates of merit to 15 units and 15 individuals with outstanding achievements in promoting, popularizing and organizing the competition locally.
