For nearly a year, the Glazer family has been selling MU for a asking price of up to 6 billion pounds. Up to now, the future of the Red Devils is still unclear as no bidder has met the Glazer family's valuation.
Qatari banking billionaire Sheikh Jassim and Britain's richest man Sir Jim Ratcliffe are still leading the race to buy MU.
While Sheikh Jassim wants to take over the entire team for £5bn, petrochemicals tycoon Sir Jim Ratcliffe is willing to buy a small stake, allowing the Glazers to continue to control the club.
If the Qatari billionaire succeeds in the above deal, they will immediately invite David Beckham to join the Red Devils' board of directors, taking on a senior role at Old Trafford.
In a recent interview while attending the Qatar GP, David Beckham said: "Once you lose the support of your fans, especially a club like MU, it's hard to get it back.
Clearly, the Glazers have achieved a lot at Old Trafford and the figures that could be obtained from selling MU show the success they have had.
But United need change. We are one of the biggest clubs in the world. United want stability and I think that is the most important thing.
In our eyes, in the eyes of the fans, MU is number 1. We want to get back to the top and I know who (the future owner) can do that".
