Trung Do - The first large slab sintered stone manufacturer in Vietnam

“Being ahead of the curve” investment strategy

As a former construction and installation enterprise in the Central region, entering a new development phase, Trung Do Joint Stock Company clearly recognizes the advantages, limitations and shortcomings of the Vietnamese construction market.

Therefore, immediately after completing equitization, the company made extremely creative changes in its business strategy. The first turning point was in 2000, when the company decided to invest over 110 billion VND to install the most modern granite tile production line in the region with a capacity of nearly 3 million ^m2 /year in Bac Vinh Industrial Park.

Then, in 2016, when the clay brick factory in Hong Linh ( Ha Tinh ) was forced to relocate to serve urban development, the company invested in a hilly clay brick factory with a capacity of 100 million bricks/year in Ngoc Son commune ( Ha Tinh ) to replace it.

However, the biggest milestone is the Construction Materials Production Complex in Nghi Van Commune (Nghi Loc). Currently, the project has only completed phase 1 and the capital investment is more than 1,000 billion VND, reaching nearly 50% of the total investment of the entire project, but has brought the company's position to a new level: Trung Do has become the leading enterprise in the country in the production of construction materials and a pioneer in the production of large-sized sintered Slab Stone "made in Vietnam".

Here, along with the line of crushing, refining and mixing raw materials as input for factories in the complex, is the production line of Slab Stone and large-size Slab Tile tiles.

With sizes ranging from the smallest 20cm x 120cm to the largest 1.6m x 2.4m; thickness like natural stone, from 10mm - 20mm; rich designs, modern and luxurious patterns, SlabStone sintered stone products are not only for construction and tiling of construction works but also replace natural stone and other materials in interior decoration such as kitchen counters, stairs, table tops, cabinet doors...

The company has bold and solid investment decisions as above, because many years of experience in the field of construction materials shows that: A new technology chain often has a certain cycle, so when investing, it is necessary to choose the latest technology for optimal performance.

When deciding to invest in the Nghi Van Complex project, from the beginning, the company chose the Continua+ technology line of SACMI Group (Italy) for installation; at the same time, invested in modern, synchronous facilities including dryers with many levels of kilns, the most advanced packaging and classification lines in the entire Asia- Pacific region.

To diversify product designs and quality to meet the European and American markets, the company also chose Itaca Group (Spain) as the world's third enamel supplier to create models and mix colors for ceramic tiles, terracotta...

Towards green and smart manufacturing

Mr. Nguyen Duy Hien - Director of Trung Do Joint Stock Company said: When investing in the Nghi Van Complex project with large scale and capacity, the company's goal is to introduce products to replace low-quality imported products in the domestic market; at the same time, promote exports to demanding markets in the world.

To create advantages, along with effectively utilizing available domestic input materials, the company chooses the most modern technology in the world and appears for the first time in Vietnam. In addition, in order to dominate the market, the company always strives to continuously improve, apply new scientific and technological achievements in the world, and continuously apply modern and advanced management systems to reduce costs.

After 1 year of operation, the company has produced many types of high-end products with beautiful designs and superior quality compared to imported products currently circulating on the market, especially the water absorption is always <0.05% (ISO standard requires <0.5%). Flexural strength >45 Mpa (ISO standard requires >35 Mpa), proving that the company's operating team has gradually mastered the technology.

In addition to the most modern European brick and sintered stone production line at Nghi Van Complex, the company invested nearly 50 billion VND to install solar panels with a total capacity of 3 MPs on the roofs of 3 factories: Trung Do - Ha Tinh, Granite Trung Do in Bac Vinh Industrial Park and Nghi Van Complex. Thanks to the use of this renewable energy source, the company can proactively produce and save from 5.2 to 5.5 billion VND in electricity bills each year.

Coming to the new factories recently invested by the company, it is not difficult to see that the environmental landscape factor is given top priority. At Nghi Van Complex, in addition to the operating area and factory of about 6 hectares, there are nearly 40 hectares of trees around, there are settling ponds, wastewater treatment by a recirculation system , so there is very little dust and almost zero noise. Customers and partners, especially European, American and Korean partners, when learning about the products and visiting the complex, highly appreciated the criteria for green production practices.

Thanks to active market research and connection, by the end of 2023, the first containers of Slab Stone produced at Nghi Van Complex were available in the US, Europe, and Australia markets. In the last days of 2023, Trung Do was awarded the certificate of being a famous competitive brand of Vietnam in 2023.

In order to expand the market, invest in 2 modern showrooms to display products in Vinh and Hanoi, the company is focusing on developing a system of stores, distribution agents, participating in prestigious fairs and exhibitions on the production of new construction materials...

Mr. Tran Van Hoan - Deputy Director of the company added: To proactively source raw materials, the company is investing in a raw material processing factory in Tan Hop commune (Tan Ky), with a capacity of about 300 thousand tons/year; at the same time, investing in expanding the industry of manufacturing sintered stone products for interior and exterior use. This is a satellite and auxiliary project for the company to proactively close the production process and expand further in the future./.
