At a regular WTO meeting this week, Chinese representatives said Japan, the Netherlands and the United States should report their plans and follow-up measures to the WTO.
Earlier, on April 4, China's Ministry of Commerce said that Beijing was seriously concerned about Japan's export restrictions on chip manufacturing equipment and called on Tokyo to correct its "wrong behavior".
The move by the three countries to restrict chip exports to China "violates the WTO's principles of fairness and transparency," according to Chinese state media.
Last week, Japan announced it would restrict exports of 23 types of semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
The move comes after the US announced the ban last October.
In March 2023, the Netherlands planned similar export restrictions, such as those from ASML Holding NV, which dominates the lithography market.
China has accused the United States of "technological hegemony" and urged the Netherlands not to follow in the footsteps of the world's largest economy .
