Polytechnic University and Singapore Polytechnic collaborate to implement community experiential learning program

Students from Singapore Polytechnic and Danang University of Technology participate in the Learning Express (LEX) project

The 7th Learning Express (LEX) project will take place from March 18, 2024 to March 29, 2024. During the 12 days of the project, students from Singapore Polytechnic and Danang University of Technology will directly participate in implementing field projects in traditional craft villages, implementing learning content and practical experiences, meeting and exchanging with students from both countries.

The students will be divided into 03 groups, each group consists of 10 students from DUT and 10 students from SP; the groups will have 02 days to learn about the Non Nuoc stone carving village (Hoa Hai ward, Ngu Hanh Son district) and the traditional craft village of making fish sauce and processing seafood (Man Thai ward, Son Tra district). Thereby, applying the design thinking method to build and propose ideas, models, and solutions that can be applied to local reality.

The Learning Express (LEX) project gives students the opportunity to gain practical experience and apply the knowledge they have learned at school to solve a specific problem in their locality. Through this program, students also have the opportunity to exchange cultures, enhance teamwork skills, problem-solving skills, leadership skills, foreign language skills, etc.

According to Dr. Nguyen Hoang Trung Hieu - Deputy Head of the Department of Science, Technology and International Cooperation, University of Science and Technology - University of Danang, over the years, the cooperation between DUT and SP has been strengthened thanks to the efforts of both sides. Learning Express with design thinking skills, is a modern and reliable educational model for current students, providing students with both knowledge and practical environment to enhance their capacity and promote a sense of readiness to contribute to the local and global community.
