Currently, candidates are in the process of paying the registration fee on the common system of the Ministry of Education and Training , no later than 5:00 p.m. on August 5.
From August 16, the Ministry of Education and Training will process admission requests on the general admission system (virtual filtering). Within 4 days from August 17-20, the Ministry of Education and Training will upload the admission results of the schools to the system (admission results of all admission methods) and return the request processing results to the schools 6 times to give the final results.
The virtual filtering process ensures that each candidate is admitted to only one and highest choice. This helps to minimize the phenomenon of virtual admission, that is, the number of candidates determined to be admitted does not reflect the number of people who will actually enroll.

After 6 virtual filtering rounds, at 5:00 p.m. on August 20, training institutions entered the admission scores and admission results into the system, reviewed and prepared to announce the first round of admission results.
Thus, from the afternoon of August 20, universities can start announcing the admission scores. The results of the first round of admission must be announced no later than 5:00 p.m. on August 22. After knowing the admission scores, all admitted candidates (including direct admission candidates) must confirm their admission on the system (if they wish to study) before 5:00 p.m. on August 30.
The Ministry of Education and Training noted that training institutions are not allowed to ask candidates to confirm admission or enroll before August 22 and are not allowed to finish confirming admission or finishing enrollment before 5:00 p.m. on August 30 (including for joint training programs with foreign countries).
From September 1 to December, candidates who need to apply for additional admission rounds of the training institution, follow the admission information posted on the training institution's admission information page.
One of the new regulations in this year's university and college admissions is that schools must convert the equivalent admission scores and entry thresholds between admission methods and combinations to increase consistency, objectivity and fairness for candidates. Training institutions cannot download data and admission information from the system if they have not publicly converted the equivalent admission scores.
In addition, the Ministry of Education and Training also requires schools to review sub-criteria and enrollment data from previous years to determine appropriate virtual rates, ensuring that the number of officially admitted candidates does not exceed the approved quota.
According to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training, this year's admission season has nearly 850,000 candidates entering their wishes into the system, an increase of more than 115,000 compared to last year (due to candidates registering for admission to vocational colleges). In total, there are about 7.6 million wishes registered for university and college admission in 2025. On average, a candidate registers nearly 9 wishes.
Thus, more than 310,000 candidates gave up the opportunity to enter university and college this year, equivalent to 26.7% of the total 1.16 million candidates.
