Cuu Long University works with city leaders in Korea

On the afternoon of April 15, leaders of Cuu Long University had a meeting and worked with the People's Council of Daejeon City (Korea), the Association of People with Disabilities of Daejeon City and Dain Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Korea) on cooperation in the fieldsof education, training and technology transfer.

Attending the meeting were Mr. Hwang Kyoungah, Vice Chairman of Daejeon City Council; Mr. Jeong Yunho, Chairman of Daejeon City Association for the Disabled; Mr. Bae Tae Hyeon, Chairman of Dain Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.

On the side of Cuu Long University, there were Dr. Nguyen Thanh Dung, Vice Rector; Master Nguyen Cao Dat, Senior Advisor to the Board of Directors; Master Nguyen Van Thanh, Senior Advisor to the Board of Directors.

Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Dung informed the delegation about the cooperative relationship between Cuu Long University and partners in Korea in recent times.

The Vice President of Cuu Long University informed that in October 2024, the school leaders visited and worked in Korea. The school also worked with a number of companies in Korea and discussed the issue of solving saline soil in the Mekong Delta region; organized exchanges between students of Cuu Long University and students of Songgok University, etc.

Notably, in 2019, the school cooperated with a Korean company to build a solar power plant at Cuu Long University with a capacity of 980 kW. This is the largest solar power plant in universities in Vietnam.

"In today's meeting, we hope to receive the attention of Daejeon City leaders and support the school in connecting with Korean companies and businesses, contributing to improving the quality of training and performing well in serving the community" - Dr. Nguyen Thanh Dung said.

At the meeting, the parties exchanged and discussed the contents that could be implemented in the coming time, specifically: Support to solve the problem of saline soil in the Mekong Delta region. Coordinate to organize a vocational training center for the disabled in Vinh Long . Support the school in the fields of artificial intelligence, semiconductors, drone training, and application of smart technology in growing Korean ginseng at the school.

Connecting the school with some other universities in Korea. Supporting Korean language training for lecturers and students of the school. Cooperating with Korean companies to carry out technology transfer in the fields of agriculture , aquaculture, engineering technology, pharmacy. Coordinating to organize exchanges of lecturers and students, scientific research, technology transfer, cultural exchange, etc.

Mr. Hwang Kyoungah, Vice Chairman of the Daejeon City Council, said he was very surprised by the large-scale development of Cuu Long University. The school has made great efforts to attract international students. He is willing to act as a bridge to help the school cooperate with companies, businesses, and universities in Korea in the fields of education and science and technology.

Mr. Hwang Kyoungah affirmed: "I care a lot about people with disabilities and will expand the construction of a support center for people with disabilities in Vinh Long."
