Government adjusts Ba Na - Suoi Mo super project

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has just signed Decision No. 946/QD-TTg on behalf of the Prime Minister, approving the policy of adjusting the Ba Na - Suoi Mo Tourist Complex project (Hoa Vang district, Da Nang city). The decision was made based on the proposal of the Ministry of Finance and the appraisal opinions of relevant ministries, branches and the People's Committee of Da Nang city.

According to the Decision, the official name of the adjusted project is Ba Na - Suoi Mo Urban and Eco- Tourism Complex project.

Sun World Ba Na Hills tourist area is one of the tourist attractions in Da Nang.

The project aims to develop this area into a top-class destination in Vietnam, integrating modern entertainment, resort, living and working functions.

The project aims to invest in the synchronous construction of technical and social infrastructure systems, along with commercial, service, accommodation, entertainment and other functional projects, serving the diverse needs of domestic and international tourists, as well as local people.

The total adjusted investment capital was raised to nearly 52,000 billion VND , equivalent to about 2 billion USD . The scale of the project includes a series of works such as: a system of more than 7,000 hotel rooms , modern entertainment areas, service - commercial works, adding 2 new cable car lines , bringing the total to 10 lines , station system, technical infrastructure and accompanying auxiliary works.

The project adjustment does not change the previously approved planning boundaries, but focuses on rearranging items and functional areas to increase synchronization and efficiency in exploitation and operation, contributing to promoting sustainable tourism development in the area.

Phase 1 of the project was implemented from 2008 to 2024 with systematic investment by Sun Group and has achieved many outstanding achievements. Sun World Ba Na Hills - a key part of the project - has become an international entertainment park complex, one of the tourism symbols of Da Nang City.

Sun World Ba Na Hills has been consecutively honored by the World Travel Awards (WTA) with many prestigious awards: "Asia's Leading Theme Park" for 4 consecutive years; "World's Leading Iconic Tourist Attraction" and "World's Leading Iconic Tourist Bridge" for the Golden Bridge in 2020-2021.

According to statistics, out of 10 international tourists coming to Da Nang, up to 7 people choose Ba Na Hills as a must-see destination.

With new investment orientation and scale, Ba Na - Suoi Mo Eco-tourism and Urban Area Complex is expected to continue to raise Da Nang's tourism position on the international map, strongly contributing to local socio-economic development and Vietnam's smokeless industry.
