On June 12, the Minister of Education and Training signed a decision to establish a branch of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education in Binh Phuoc province.
According to the decision, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education is responsible for reporting to the Ministry of Education and Training on the conditions to ensureeducational quality to allow the school's branch in Binh Phuoc to carry out training activities in accordance with the provisions of law.
According to the development roadmap for the 2024-2036 period, the branch is planned with a total investment of about 341 billion VND, with an expected training scale of about 5,900 students, including 2,800 full-time students.
Associate Professor, Dr. Le Hieu Giang, Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education, said that in 2025, the branch will enroll students for full-time university training with 12 majors, with a scale of nearly 500 students, opening up high-quality learning opportunities for local students and students in neighboring areas.
In addition to regular university training, the branch of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education in Binh Phuoc also plans to implement work-study programs and short-term training courses according to social needs, creating conditions for local and regional learners to improve their qualifications and meet the increasing demands of the labor market.
In addition, national defense and security education courses for full-time students are also expected to be held at the branch.
On June 12, the National Assembly approved the merger of provinces, in which Binh Phuoc merged with Dong Nai province, taking the name of the merged province as Dong Nai. Before the merger, Binh Phuoc was a province without any university-level training facilities.
