TPO - In the 2021-2030 Higher Education Network Plan recently approved by the Government , it is oriented that 5 universities will focus on developing engineering and technology.
Five higher education institutions invested by the Government to develop engineering and technology in the coming period include: Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Hanoi University of Construction, University of Transport, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education, and the Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology.
These schools, together with national universities and a number of regional universities, play a core role in training high-quality human resources, researching and developing strategic technology fields and national digital transformation.
According to the plan to 2030, the training scale in the STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) in Vietnam will be about 1 million students, of which 1% will have a doctorate degree and 7% will have a master's degree.
According to the Vietnam University Rankings 2025 (VNUR-2025), in the group of universities with revenue of over 1,000 billion VND, Hanoi University of Science and Technology will move up one place from 4th in 2024 to 3rd in 2025.
Six public schools with revenue of VND1,000 billion include Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, National Economics University, Ton Duc Thang University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Polytechnic University (Ho Chi Minh City National University).
Private schools with revenue of 1,000 billion VND are FPT University, Nguyen Tat Thanh School, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (Hutech) and Van Lang University.
