The defendants prosecuted for the crime of abuse of power while performing official duties include: Pham Xuan Huong (born in 1968, former Party Cell Secretary), Vu Xuan Thuy (born in 1956, former Village Chief), Duong Quoc Van (born in 1965, former Party Cell Secretary), Nguyen Van Dam (born in 1955, former People's Inspector in charge of the village, concurrently the village treasurer).
In Loi Tri village, the defendants: Vu Dinh Dac (born in 1964, former Party Cell Secretary), Vu Dinh Ca (born in 1966, former Village Chief), Nguyen Hoai Chuc (born in 1949, former Party Cell Committee member, concurrently Village Treasurer) were also prosecuted for the crime of abuse of power while performing official duties.
In Phu Da village, the defendants were prosecuted for the crime of abuse of power while performing official duties, including: Vu Quang Bau (born in 1955, former Party Cell Secretary), Tran Van Khiem (born in 1949, former Village Chief), Tran Thi Lan (born in 1975, former Deputy Party Cell Secretary and Village Treasurer), and Do Duc Tho (born in 1958, former Deputy Village Chief).
According to the investigation results, from 2014 to 2017, taking advantage of the implementation of the policy of land consolidation, plot exchange, field improvement, and new rural construction, the leaders of 3 villages of Hong Khe commune, Binh Giang district (Hai Duong) met and agreed to arbitrarily sell public land managed by the commune People's Committee to many households to raise funds to build infrastructure in each village.
Leaders of 3 villages illegally sold 26,603.8 m2 to 60 households, collecting a total amount of more than 6.6 billion VND, causing a loss to the state budget of more than 1.8 billion VND.
