This activity is within the framework of Project 8 on gender equality and addressing urgent issues related to women and children, under the National Target Program on Socio -Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas for the 2021-2030 period, Phase I: 2021-2025.

The communication program was held in Phi Lieng commune (Dam Rong district), Da Quyn commune (Duc Trong district) and Son Dien commune (Di Linh district). These are 3/7 localities in the province implementing Project 8 on gender equality and solving urgent issues related to women and children.

Through communication sessions, we contribute to raising awareness for people in especially difficult villages, gradually changing the behavior of women and the community in joining hands to push back and eliminate the problem of early marriage and incestuous marriage.

Early marriage and incestuous marriage are some of the bad customs that still exist in Vietnam in general, Lam Dong province in particular, especially in ethnic minority areas. This situation has been and is an obstacle to sustainable socio-economic development and social progress.

Early marriage and incestuous marriage are not only violations of the law but also leave many consequences for individuals, families and society, directly affecting the quality of human resources, population, care,education and protection of children.

Currently, the situation of incestuous marriage among ethnic minorities has decreased but still occurs in some ethnic groups. Sectors and levels have stepped up propaganda work, raising awareness among people about early marriage and incestuous marriage. In recent years, the Lam Dong Provincial Women's Union at all levels has coordinated with relevant sectors and organizations to promote propaganda work through the Union's activities in forms such as oral propaganda, contests, thematic talks, distributing documents, leaflets, propaganda on mass media and the Union's website... Through these activities, the awareness of members and women about early marriage and incestuous marriage has many positive changes.
