This morning, October 23, at the National News Center ( Hanoi ), the News Agency Publishing House (VNA) organized the launch of the work 'Story about General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong' by Korean author Cho Chulhyeon, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the General Secretary's passing.
The book "Stories about General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong" is 344 pages thick, printed in size 16 x 24 cm. Author and writer Cho Chulhyeon vividly describes his childhood, the years of studying hard, excelling in primary, middle and high school, and being a student of the Faculty of Literature, class 8, Hanoi National University; his working period at the Communist Magazine with many sharp theoretical and critical articles and the achievements of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong when he held the position of Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee (2000 - 2006), Chairman of the National Assembly (2006 - 2011); his period as the highest leader of Vietnam through the 11th, 12th and 13th Party Congresses.

The work consists of the following parts: Introduction: Schooling period ; Chapter 1: Maturity period ; Chapter 2: Criticism period ; Chapter 3: People's period ; Chapter 4: Adaptation period ; Epilogue: Sketching the picture of a cultural powerhouse .
Notably, in the preface of the book, President Luong Cuong, when he was a member of the Politburo and Permanent Secretary of the Secretariat, wrote: "The work will help readers at home and abroad understand more about the respected leader of the Party, State and people of Vietnam; it has profound educational significance for cadres, party members and people about ethics, revolutionary ideals, for the freedom and happiness of the people."
Speaking at the book launch ceremony, Mr. Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Party Central Committee's External Relations Commission, affirmed that the work will contribute to deepening the friendship and good cooperation between the people of Vietnam and Korea, further consolidating the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

Sharing the reason for choosing this topic, author Cho Chulhyeon said he was attracted to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. "It is very rare for leaders of countries in the world to have a background in literature. When I learned more, I learned that General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong is a long-time journalist. A leader who studied literature and used to be a journalist is interesting to me," the book's author shared.
With the desire that Vietnamese readers have the opportunity to access works written about General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong through the lens of a foreign writer to better understand the respected leader of the Communist Party of Vietnam, on July 22, 2024, VNA held a signing ceremony for the Copyright Transfer Contract between VNA and Jammy Holdings Company and assigned the News Agency Publishing House to translate and publish the work Stories about General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in Vietnamese and Korean in Vietnam.

Sharing at the ceremony, Dr. Tran Thi Bich Phuong, translator and editor of the work, could not help but be moved when mentioning the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. "General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong is a person from the Ho Chi Minh era, but I can feel that he has the same ideology as a scholar, a true Northern scholar," said Dr. Phuong.
