The provincial Social Insurance recommends that health insurance participants proactively install and use electronic applications to ensure their rights and convenience when examining and treating patients.
Accordingly, the provincial Social Insurance will only issue new paper health insurance cards in 3 cases: Participants cannot install the VssID application, cannot install the VNeID application, or do not have a chip-embedded CCCD.
All remaining cases will be instructed to use electronic methods to facilitate the process of medical examination and treatment using health insurance.
This is a step in the digital transformation roadmap of the social insurance sector, aiming to achieve the goal of cutting administrative procedures and modernizing public service activities under the direction of the Government and the Prime Minister .
The use of CCCD, VssID and VNeID has been effectively implemented by the Social Insurance sector in coordination with relevant ministries and sectors in recent times. In fact, this form helps reduce the risk of losing or damaging paper health insurance cards, shortens the time for medical examination and treatment procedures, and at the same time, contributes to preventing the act of profiteering from the health insurance fund.
For those who participate in health insurance but have not updated their CCCD information into their VssID account, the provincial Social Insurance guides them to follow simple steps through the Vietnam Social Insurance Public Service Portal at https://dichvucong.baohiemxahoi.gov.vn. People can log in, adjust personal information and confirm via OTP code to complete the online update.
