From June 1, Ho Chi Minh City residents pay for garbage by kilogram

Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee issued Decision 67 regulating specific prices for collection, transportation and treatment of domestic solid waste in the area.

This Decision takes effect from June 1, 2025, replacing Decision 38/2018 and Decision 20/2021 of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

The subjects of application are agencies; organizations; production, business and service establishments; investors in construction and business of infrastructure of concentrated production, business and service areas, industrial clusters; households and individuals that generate domestic solid waste in the area.

State management agencies and related units, organizations and individuals providing services of collection, transportation and treatment of domestic solid waste in the city.

This is to reflect the actual costs and encourage people to sort waste at source. The new price applies to agencies, organizations, production - business - service establishments, investors in infrastructure of production areas, industrial clusters, as well as households and individuals that generate solid waste in the city. Garbage fees, including collection and transportation fees, will be collected monthly by area. Large waste generators will have to pay additional waste treatment fees.
