Proud of the homeland Party newspaper, continuing to shoulder the mission in the new era

In the historical flow of nearly a century of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism, Bac Ninh journalism has continuously grown, becoming a shock force on the ideological and cultural front of the province. From small newspapers named “Hiep Luc”, “Resist the enemy”, to “Bac Ninh” with the form of a modern newspaper today, that journey is an epic filled with sweat, intelligence and passion of journalists - soldiers without military ranks, but always at the forefront of the fight to protect the truth, convey beliefs, arouse aspirations and promote the development of the beloved homeland of Bac Ninh.

From a small piece of news amidst the smoke of war
History never forgets the difficult early days. In the midst of the war, in 1954, when the country was still divided, the newspaper “Resistance” was changed to the newspaper “Bac Ninh”, with a size of 29x37cm, only 4 pages, published once a week. The newspaper team at that time consisted of only 3-4 people, who also wrote, printed, distributed… amidst countless shortages of materials and technology. However, it was in those difficult circumstances that the revolutionary spirit, patriotism and desire to contribute forged the steadfastness of the early journalists. They rushed to the grassroots, recorded vivid stories of life, reflected the agricultural collectivization, and spread the example of good people and good deeds in production, culture and education. The newspaper became a bridge connecting the will of the Party and the thoughts of the masses, contributing to arousing the strength of solidarity and the will of self-reliance among the people.

In 1962, Bac Ninh Newspaper was born, inheriting the newspaper of the same name and marking an important transformation: from a mere propaganda tool to a democratic forum, reflecting the breath of local life, being the honest voice of the Party, government and people.

When the resistance war against the US entered its fiercest phase, Bac Ninh became a strategic rear base with many key factories and enterprises. Ha Bac Newspaper - after the merger of Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces - became the main media force, promoting emulation movements such as "Hammer in hand, gun in hand", "Three ready", "Five volunteering". In harsh conditions, the press still stuck to reality, accompanied the people in production, fighting, and supporting the frontline.

In particular, after the 6th National Party Congress, the press nationwide became more open in reflecting social issues. Ha Bac Newspaper at that time not only simply propagated policies, but also actively investigated, criticized, and contributed to the process of monitoring and building society. That was a turning point demonstrating the role and mettle of revolutionary journalists in the period of renovation.
Affirming the role of local Party newspapers
In 1997, after Bac Ninh province was re-established, Bac Ninh Newspaper (New Ministry) was born - opening a new chapter full of prosperity. Inheriting the revolutionary spirit of previous generations, the newspaper quickly innovated both in form and content. From being published twice a week, by 2008, Bac Ninh Newspaper was published five times a week (from Monday to Friday), one of the few provincial newspapers in the country published on weekdays at that time.

In the digital transformation wave of modern journalism, Bac Ninh Newspaper is one of the pioneering local press agencies in building electronic newspapers. The launch of the website “Bac Ninh online” in 2004 was an important breakthrough, expanding the reach of readers, improving the effectiveness of propaganda in the digital age.

A delegation of cadres and reporters from Bac Ninh Newspaper investigated the Phai Khat Fort Relic, Tam Kim Commune, Nguyen Binh District (Cao Bang) on ​​the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army.

In April 2021, the publication “Bac Ninh Weekend” continued to be launched, contributing to enriching the content, diversifying the forms of expression, serving the increasing needs of readers. Along with that is the remarkable maturity of the team of reporters and editors - who are not only well-trained, but also always innovative in thinking, sharp in reflecting and leading information.

Today, Bac Ninh Newspaper has not only fulfilled its assigned political tasks well, but also become a reliable forum, a bridge between the Party, the government and the people, contributing to promoting the economic, cultural and social development of the province in the period of integration and development.
Shouldering the mission in the new era
Entering a new era - the era of national development, Bac Ninh province is transforming strongly with the goal of becoming a centrally-run city, developing in a civilized and modern direction. In that context, the role of the press becomes especially important. Bac Ninh Newspaper, with a tradition of nearly a century, is expected to continue to promote its role as "a loyal secretary of the times", "the voice of the people", "a forum for democracy, innovation and humanity". The newspaper must be the pioneer on the ideological front, promptly refuting wrong arguments, protecting the Party's ideological foundation, and spreading positive values ​​in social life. More than anyone else, journalists today need to be deeply aware of the social responsibility and noble mission they are carrying on their shoulders. Continuously learn, innovate, stick to reality, discover and honor good values, resolutely fight against negativity and moral degradation, thereby contributing to building a progressive, fair and civilized society.

From a humble newspaper amidst the flames of war to a modern daily newspaper of a developed industrial province, the journey of Bac Ninh journalism is a vivid testament to the strong vitality of Vietnam's revolutionary journalism. Under the leadership of the Party, the trust of the people and with the internal strength of the journalism team, Bac Ninh Newspaper has been, is and will continue to be a torch to light the way, accompanying the cause of innovation, integration and sustainable development of the homeland.
