
Ok Om Bok Festival, or the flat rice feeding festival, is held by the Khmer people during the moon worshiping ceremony, so it is also called the Moon Worshiping Festival, taking place on the full moon day of the 10th lunar month every year. In 2014, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism included the Ok Om Bok Festival in the National Intangible Heritage List.
From October 30 to November 5, the Culture and Tourism Week will take place, associated with the Ok Om Bok Festival, with many outstanding activities such as musical instrument performance competitions, traditional Khmer costumes; and display of Southern folk cakes.
In addition, many exciting sports and physical activities attract a large number of athletes to participate such as: National fitness and gala championship; bicycle and motorbike racing.
The most attractive is the Vinh Long Province Open Boat Race, which took place on November 3 and 4 at Long Binh River, Long Duc Ward, with the participation of 18 male and mixed boat teams, with 27 exciting competitions, bringing fans exciting and dramatic races.

In recent times, implementing the National Target Program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the 2021-2030 period, Party committees and authorities at all levels in the province have resolutely and synchronously deployed solutions to help Khmer people improve their lives and sustainably reduce poverty.
Continuing to promote national solidarity and patriotism, Khmer people in Vinh Long province actively participate in patriotic emulation movements at the grassroots level, joining hands to build new rural areas. Up to now, most communes with a large number of ethnic minorities in the province have met the standards of new rural areas and advanced new rural areas.
The province currently has more than 310,000 Khmer people, accounting for more than 8% of the population. Up to now, the poverty rate among Khmer people is 1.6%, near-poor 3.2%.

The activities of the Culture and Tourism Week, associated with the Ok Om Bok Festival, have created a joyful and exciting atmosphere, serving the entertainment needs of the people. Thereby, introducing the image, land and people of Vinh Long province as benevolent, friendly and affectionate; attracting a large number of domestic and foreign tourists.
