Youth Union members of Dong Phuc commune (Ba Be) support people in digging house foundations

In recent days, in Na Thau village, Dong Phuc commune (Ba Be district), youth union members urgently supported Ma The Phong's family. Despite the hot weather, dozens of youth union members were still working hard to dismantle the old house, level the ground, transport materials, and dig the foundation to quickly complete the new house for Phong. His family's old house was seriously degraded and located in an area at risk of landslides after storm No. 3. Thanks to the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, in early 2025, Phong's family received 50 million VND from the State, 8 tons of cement from the Provincial Youth Union, and youth union members in the commune contributed labor days.

Touched by this help, Mr. Phong shared: "My family is a poor household, for many years we have lived in a dilapidated house but have not had the conditions to repair it. Thanks to the support of the State, the Provincial Youth Union and the Youth Union members, my family can build a solid home. I am truly grateful for that."

Not only in Ba Be, the youth movement to join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses is also spreading throughout districts and cities in the province. In 2025, Bach Thong district has 313 households in need of housing support. Ms. Hoang Thi Ha - Secretary of Bach Thong District Youth Union said that the District Youth Union has directed each commune to establish volunteer teams to be ready to support when necessary. With the spirit of initiative and responsibility, youth union members in the area enthusiastically participate in contributing working days to support families. Youth union members are very excited to contribute to helping families in difficult circumstances. Along with that, the Youth Union and Youth Union at all levels in Bach Thong district have organized activities to visit and give gifts to young people and children living in temporary and dilapidated houses; support tasks such as dismantling old houses, contributing working days to build new houses.

Up to now, the Youth Union and Youth Union chapters at all levels in the province have supported more than 1,000 working days, helping to dismantle and transport construction materials, contributing to the elimination of more than 240 temporary and dilapidated houses. At the same time, the Youth Union chapters at all levels have connected with social resources to support the construction of 9 charity houses for disadvantaged households.

Secretary of the Bac Kan Provincial Youth Union Trieu Tien Trinh affirmed: "The Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee has focused on widely propagating to all levels of the Youth Union, Youth Union members, and youth in the whole province to understand the Party and State's policy on eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses. In addition, it connects social resources, mobilizes resources to eliminate temporary houses, and builds houses for people with housing difficulties. The Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee continues to mobilize youth union members to support working days, construction materials, moving, dismantling, and building houses, thereby helping the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the province to ensure progress."
