Youth of Military Medical Academy marches into science and technology

Based on the characteristics and requirements of the training process, in recent years, the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the Military Medical Academy have always paid attention to encouraging and motivating students to actively participate in scientific research. Many synchronous solutions have been implemented to arouse and promote creative thinking capacity, train independent scientific research skills or teamwork of students. At the same time, Party committees, commanders, and scientific councils at all levels have also done a good job of evaluating and selecting typical and quality works to commend and reward and participate in science and technology awards organized by superiors.

Thanks to that, the movement “Military Youth marching into science and technology” at the Military Medical Academy, directly the scientific research activities of the youth of the entire Academy, has always achieved outstanding results and achievements. Scientific works and technical innovation initiatives of young cadres, students and trainees of the Military Medical Academy have always been highly appreciated by the Scientific Council at all levels. Scientific research activities of the youth have also become one of the strengths of the Academy.

In particular, in 2023, the youth of the Military Medical Academy won many awards and high achievements in ministerial, industry and national scientific conferences, typically: 01 First prize, 02 Second prizes, 02 Third prizes at the Science and Technology Award for students in highereducation institutions in 2023, the Academy was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Ministry of Education and Training; 02 First prizes, 02 Second prizes, 03 Third prizes at the 23rd Youth Medical Science and Technology Conference, the Academy and Military Hospital 103 were awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Ministry of Health; 02 Second prizes, 03 Third prizes at the National Student Scientific Research Award... Participating in the 24th Creative Youth Award in the Army, the youth of the Military Medical Academy won 02 First prizes, 01 Second prize, 03 Third prizes and 06 Encouragement prizes. The Military Medical Academy was honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Minister of National Defense for its achievements in organizing scientific research activities.

Representing the Project Board: "Research on creating recombinant NS1 antigens combining 4 strains of Dengue virus 1, 2, 3 and 4" which just won First Prize at the Science and Technology Award for students in higher education institutions in 2023 (in the field of medical science) , Senior Sergeant Nguyen Thi Thanh Thao, Student of class DH54D, said: "The attention and encouragement of leaders and commanders at all levels is truly a great motivation to help us overcome difficulties in the research process to successfully implement the project. At the same time, it is also the first "launching pad" to help young students be more confident and determined to conquer the heights of science and technology in their studies as well as future work".

According to Lieutenant General, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Kien, Director of the Military Medical Academy, by promoting the movement "Military Youth marching into science and technology", through scientific research activities, it has helped the youth of the entire Academy to promote their intelligence, creativity, ability to approach and gradually master science and technology in their working positions; helping students have scientific thinking methods and working styles, as a basis for improving their professional qualifications and working capacity, contributing practically to improving the quality of training, treatment and scientific research of the Academy.

Promoting the achieved results, in the coming time, the Party Committee, commanders of agencies, units, and scientific officers of the Military Medical Academy will continue to pay attention to leadership, direction, and create more favorable conditions to help scientific research activities of students be maintained regularly, truly in-depth, and operate more and more systematically.

In particular, it focuses on promoting the role of the staff and lecturers in caring for, orienting, imparting knowledge and fostering confidence, creating conditions for students to develop their intelligence, have independent thinking and creativity in scientific research. From there, it helps students of the Academy have the opportunity to access and master new scientific research and new technologies, striving towards the "dual" goal of becoming both outstanding military doctors and excellent scientific researchers, actively contributing to the cause of health care for soldiers and people./.
