Provincial Youth Union leaders support people affected by storm No. 6 in That Khe commune

Mr. Doan Thanh Cong, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Head of the Youth Union and Youth Affairs Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lang Son province, said: The young generation of Lang Son province today was born and raised in peace , enjoying the achievements of the homeland and the country. Therefore, we always focus on fostering patriotism, national pride and self-respect, so that each young person always remembers the heroic tradition of their fathers and brothers, thereby nurturing aspirations, striving to study, practice, and contribute to building the homeland to become more and more beautiful and civilized. In recent times, the Youth Union and Association at all levels have always implemented many patriotic emulation movements, creating an environment for union members and young people to practice, promote their capacity, affirm their mettle as well as contribute to the community.

Accordingly, the Youth Union and Association chapters at all levels have strongly spread the movement "I love my Fatherland" through many activities such as flag-salute activities, branch and association activities, seminars, returning to the source... The Youth Union bases regularly maintain the activities of "remembering the source when drinking water" and "repaying gratitude". From 2019 to now, the whole province has organized more than 8,500 activities and seminars, attracting over 120,000 Youth Union members to participate; visited and presented 5,500 gifts to families, policy beneficiaries, war invalids and sick soldiers.

In addition, the Youth Union and Association at all levels also focus on supporting young people to start their own businesses through connecting with businesses, providing capital and providing guidance on start-up skills. From 2019 to now, the whole province has had more than 50 start-up projects in the fields of agriculture, forestry, services, creative business and about 100 economic models owned by young people with high efficiency. The Youth Union and Association have also established many academic, scientific research, foreign language, arts and sports clubs, creating an environment for young people to promote their abilities and strengths, thereby forming a generation of young people with intelligence, courage and readiness to integrate.

Not stopping there, the Youth Union and Association at all levels also concretize the spirit of patriotism through volunteer activities, towards the community with very meaningful volunteer programs. From 2019 to now, the whole province has organized over 2,500 volunteer activities, attracting more than 120,000 Youth Union members to participate. Thereby, building 8 classrooms, schools, 35 charity houses, red scarf houses, over 1,500 improved toilets, family garbage pits; presenting 17,550 gifts, over 2,200 scholarships to families and students in difficult circumstances; building 50 models of "Lighting up the village roads", "Bright - green - clean - beautiful" villages. The Young Doctors Association examined and provided free medicine to over 34,000 people; the voluntary blood donation movement collected 10,454 units of blood...

In the past few days, thousands of Youth Union members have promptly arrived at the affected areas to join hands in overcoming the consequences of storm No. 11. Youth Union member Hoang Tuan Thanh, Dong Be village, Yen Binh commune said: Since October 7, I have joined the Commune Military Command to inspect areas at risk of flooding, supporting people to move people and property to safe places. After the storm, I participated in transporting relief goods to isolated areas; supporting cleanup at agencies, schools, and houses; loading and distributing relief rice to households. I am very proud to be able to help the affected people, helping them return to normal life soon.

Through concrete and practical actions, Lang Son youth are continuing the glorious tradition of their homeland. Meaningful projects and works for the community have left a good impression on the dynamic youth generation, who dare to think, dare to do, constantly train and contribute to building their homeland.
