However, according to the Mirror , coach Ten Hag is still confident that a deal between Man Utd and De Gea will be signed.

"I think we want him to stay and he himself wants to stay, so I think we will find each other," coach Ten Hag shared.

After securing Champions League qualification for next season with a 4-1 win over Chelsea on May 26, coach Ten Hag said: "We can still improve with this squad, as we have done this season.

That's the work I have to do with my coaching staff. We have made great progress, a lot of individuals have made progress. We have a good foundation now.

I think there is still a lot of room for improvement in this squad. When you get the right players, it will give Man Utd more depth and better standards. Then the team has more chances to get into the top four and win major trophies for themselves."
