Through the story of Meritorious Artist Nguyen Thi Loc Huyen's hard work, many young people have become passionate about this classical art, even though many of them are new to Tuong. With 20 years of "igniting" her passion on the Tuong stage, Meritorious Artist Nguyen Thi Loc Huyen is not only a talented artist but also a "pioneer bringing classical art closer to GenZ".
From classic plays to bold innovation projects, she has proven the truth: "Tuong is not a "museum" - but a cultural flow that needs GenZ to support, even though the remuneration policy for artists is very low. We love the profession so much that we often use our own money to practice and perform. It is true that we do it for passion, and do extra work to preserve traditional art."
Meritorious Artist Nguyen Thi Loc Huyen said that for 6 years, she has not been able to recruit a new generation of actors. The theater is currently training in a "big family" or "father-to-son" style. This is a concern for the traditional art of Tuong, but she is happy that many young people watch and love this traditional art, because as long as there are audiences, there will be Tuong stages.
According to Meritorious Artist Nguyen Thi Loc Huyen, she was not passionate about Tuong in the past and did not know much about Tuong, but only learned about Tuong in 2019. Since then, Tuong has become her "blood and flesh". Her story has touched many young people when she performed the famous excerpt "Ho Nguyet Co turns into a fox".

Thu Trang, a member of the Organizing Committee of the project "Tuong Di" and the talk show "Tuong and GenZ: When the Vietnamese Soul Speaks" shared: "Tuong - a traditional art with a strong national identity - is not only a heritage of the past, but can also become an endless source of inspiration for today's youth. This program will be a unique bridge between the quintessence of national art and the creative thinking of GenZ, and at the same time a "stepping stone" for young people to confidently tell the story of Vietnamese culture in their own way."
Trang said that this program will continue not only in university lecture halls but also explore , feel, and debate the Gen Z generation such as: "Is Tuong difficult to access? Is Tuong confused with Chinese art; Tuong on social networks; Does Tuong need to change its approach to reach young people; Where will Tuong go if young people do not follow in its footsteps...
In the context that traditional Tuong art is struggling, the activity of bringing Tuong to the lecture hall at Dai Nam University is an interesting one.
Mr. Manh Truong - lecturer of the Faculty of Communication, Dai Nam University said: "When young people come into contact with artists to share and perform, I believe they will love traditional Tuong art more deeply and they will support the artists more, even though they are still confused".
