Many meaningful activities on the occasion of Action Month for Children

In her opening speech, Vice Chairwoman of Ba Dinh District People's Committee Pham Thi Diem said that, imbued with the teaching of President Ho Chi Minh "Give the best to children". Over the years, the Party Committee, government and people of Ba Dinh District have always paid special attention and priority in the leadership and direction of the causeof education and care for children.

With the participation of the entire political system, many practical activities and safe playgrounds have been organized, contributing to orienting children to a healthy lifestyle, good moral qualities, staying away from social evils, and not violating the law. All children have the right to live and develop in a safe, healthy, friendly and protected environment, free from abuse and discrimination. Children in difficult circumstances are given equal conditions to develop in all aspects.

“The Month of Action for Children will be an opportunity for us to look back at the results achieved in child care and protection in the past time. Orient and implement specific actions in the coming time. At the same time, create a communication campaign to raise awareness about children and the community's responsibility towards children”, the Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ba Dinh District emphasized.

Responding to the Month of Action for Children 2025, with the theme "Prioritizing resources, completing goals for children", the leader of the People's Committee of Ba Dinh district proposed that, immediately after the district's launching ceremony, 13 wards organize the launching ceremony of "Month of Action for Children" at the ward level, ensuring completion before May 30. Organize response activities with specific, positive actions, suitable to the local situation.

Accordingly, strengthen propaganda content on preventing and combating child abuse and preventing and combating accidents and injuries, especially drowning accidents in children. Organize activities to visit, give gifts, and award scholarships to children. Organize cultural, recreational, and sports activities with useful content and diverse forms.

At the same time, strengthen state management of children, enhance the responsibility of all levels, sectors, and heads of agencies and units in receiving, intervening, and promptly supporting abused and violent children. Direct and supervise the implementation of the Month of Action for Children in 2025, evaluate the implementation results, and organize the implementation of activities according to the set plan.

Within the framework of the program, the leaders of the Ba Dinh District People's Committee presented gifts to representatives of children from 13 wards and children with difficult circumstances who have overcome difficulties to study well. At the same time, the "Reading Culture Ambassador" Contest 2025 was awarded, activities were implemented to screen children for motor and congenital heart defects; and communication programs on preventing and combating child abuse in families and communities were launched.

Sharing about the screening activities for children, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Thuy - Deputy Director of Ba Dinh District Medical Center said that this is an annual activity organized every year under the direct guidance of the district leaders. "In today's activity, screening for motor and congenital heart defects was conducted for 50 children in difficult circumstances. The District Medical Center has arranged a team of pediatricians and nurses to directly examine the children. It is expected that in the next sessions, about 200 children will continue to be screened," the Deputy Director of Ba Dinh District Medical Center informed.
