After defeating Thailand to win the championship in the second round of SEA V-League 2025, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team continued to train in preparation for the 2025 world championship.
Before leaving for Thailand, Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team will have two highly anticipated friendly matches against Spain and Kenya. Of these two teams, Kenya will be the opponent of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team at the upcoming world championship.
In the first friendly match with Spain, this was an opportunity for Bich Tuyen and her teammates to learn and get used to the playing style of a European team. Under the leadership of coach Pascual Saurin, Spain participated in the 1992 Olympics (8th place) and participated in the World Championship twice. This team participated in the European Championship 8 times, the highest position was 9th place (2009).

Although ranked below the Vietnamese women's volleyball team (22nd in the world), Spain (32nd in the world) is still considered very formidable, especially with its outstanding physique and physical strength.
For his part, Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet will most likely give the opportunity to the maximum number of athletes to enter the field to evaluate the performance of each position. After winning the SEA V-League stage 2 championship, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team has been actively practicing, improving the limitations in step 1, pass 2, and preparing effective attack and defense plans.
The Vietnam vs Spain women's volleyball match will take place at 7:00 p.m. on August 17 at Dong Anh Stadium ( Hanoi ).
According to the list registered by the Vietnam Volleyball Federation with the Organizing Committee of the 2025 World Championship, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will participate with 14 athletes, all of whom are familiar faces who have competed in the AVC Nations Cup 2025, VTV Cup 2025 and SEA V-League 2025.
