On the afternoon of May 5, the Vietnamese women's futsal team had a practice session to get acquainted with the official competition field at the Hohhot Sports Center (China), where the final round of the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship will take place.
Captain Trinh Nguyen Thanh Hang said the team had prepared very carefully for the tournament, from technical to physical. Especially the quality training trip in Japan before going to China.
This is the second time Thanh Hang has participated in a continental tournament. But this year's tournament has a special meaning because the teams will compete for the opportunity to participate in the Women's Futsal World Cup for the first time, an important milestone in the players' careers.
Thanh Hang shared: "We are very eager to participate in the world arena organized by FIFA for futsal for the first time. The whole team and I are under pressure, but also very determined. Everyone is trying their best to overcome all difficulties and focus on this tournament."

"Although Vietnamese futsal is on the rise, it has not really exploded. If the team wins the opportunity to participate in this World Cup, it will be a big boost to spread futsal in Vietnam," she added.
In the final round of the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship, the Vietnamese women's futsal team in Group B will meet Hong Kong (May 7), the Philippines (May 9) and Iran (May 11).
Thanh Hang identified Iran (ranked 9th in the world) as the strongest opponent of the Vietnamese women's futsal team (ranked 11th in the world) in the group stage. As for the two remaining opponents in the group, Thanh Hang believes in the home team's ability to win.
The Vietnamese women's futsal team arrived in China on the evening of May 1. Coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang and his team then had a friendly match with the Chinese women's futsal team on May 3. As a result, the Vietnamese women's futsal team lost 3-4 in the penalty shootout after a 2-2 draw in the two regular periods.
The team has now had four days to get used to the conditions in Inner Mongolia. Despite the cold weather, the players have continued to train hard to maintain their best physical condition for the upcoming match against Hong Kong.
The 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship will take place from May 7 to 18 in Inner Mongolia (China) with the participation of 12 teams, divided into 3 groups.
The top two teams in each group, along with the two best third-placed teams, will advance to the quarter-finals.
The top three teams (champion, runner-up and third place) will qualify for the 2025 Women's Futsal World Cup taking place later this year in the Philippines.
