After passing the group stage with the leading position, the Vietnamese women's futsal team entered the quarter-finals of the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship against Japan. Coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang and the players are actively practicing, carefully preparing both physically, tactically and mentally to aim for the best results.

“After the last round of the group stage, we knew our opponent was Japan. This is a high-quality team. We trained in Japan and played friendly matches with this team. They have a fast playing style, good technique and caused us a lot of difficulties,” coach Dinh Hoang assessed his opponent.

Although facing a very strong opponent, according to coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang, the Vietnamese women's futsal team has an advantage in physical strength as Japan just went through a tense match with Thailand.

“Mentally, they may also be affected after the 1-3 loss to Thailand. We took advantage of that,” said coach Dinh Hoang.

In preparation for the quarter-final match at 10:00 a.m. on May 13 (Vietnam time), the Vietnamese women's futsal team had a training session during the official match time at noon on May 12. The training session mainly focused on improving intensity, speed of play and competitive mentality, ready for the important confrontation.
