Building a revolutionary, disciplined, elite, and modern Army in the direction of being lean, compact, and strong is an objective necessity, demonstrating the strategic vision of our Party and State for the cause of building the Army, consolidating national defense, and protecting the Fatherland in the new situation. This places new, higher requirements on the training of Army cadres, because high-quality human resources play a particularly important and decisive role in implementing the Army modernization policy.
Speaking at the conference to review the military training work in 2024 and the direction and tasks for 2025, Senior General Nguyen Tan Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Minister of National Defense , Head of the Military Training Department of the Ministry of National Defense affirmed: Military training work is the first step to help select input sources. To train, foster, and build a team of cadres, officers, and technical specialists - the "pillars" of the Army - with good qualities and capabilities, the input sources must be good.

Realizing that, in recent times, the military training work has always received comprehensive and close leadership and direction from the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense; unified guidance from functional agencies and the participation of military units and schools, as well as relevant ministries, branches and localities. Specifically, the Military Training Department of the Ministry of National Defense has directed, guided, strengthened inspection and supervision of the implementation of military training work, creating favorable conditions for agencies, units, localities and schools in implementing documents from superiors to ensure strictness, synchronization and unity.
Localities and units organize preliminary selection, registration, background verification, health check-ups, and prepare and hand over documents in accordance with regulations. Military academies and schools receive application documents and organize enrollment, review wishes, conduct health check-ups, carry out pre-course work, and organize post-inspection seriously, strictly, and in accordance with procedures and time. Thanks to that, this important prerequisite step is implemented effectively, publicly, and democratically, according to the regulations and rules of the State, the Ministry of National Defense, and the Ministry of Education and Training .

Implementing the policy of education and training innovation and meeting the high requirements of the task of building the Army, military training work has many innovations, suitable to military characteristics, integrated with the national education system, and the quality is increasingly improved.
As the leading training center for scientific and technical cadres of the Army and the country, the Military Technical Academy pays special attention to the input quality of admitted candidates. Lieutenant General, Professor, Dr. Le Minh Thai, Director of the Military Technical Academy, said: In 2024, the Academy will have 541 admitted candidates, of which 3/4 candidates will be directly admitted to candidates who won the first, second, and third prizes in national excellent students; 5/5 candidates will be given priority for candidates who won the national consolation prize and the fourth prize in the national science and technology competition; 66/313 candidates will be admitted to excellent high school students (including 3 subjects: Won the first, second, and third prizes in the provincial excellent student selection exam; have certificates of two international standardized tests SAT, ACT; have international foreign language certificates).
In Dien Bien province, according to Colonel Le Van Son, Commander of the Provincial Military Command, the Military Recruitment Board at all levels has done a good job of advising local Party committees and authorities; coordinating with departments, branches, and organizations to organize registration instructions, preliminary health check-ups, file declaration, political background verification, and file handover in a strict and principled manner.
On the other hand, effectively organize propaganda and career guidance work with many suitable contents and forms, thereby attracting many young people and students to register for the exam. In 2024 alone, Dien Bien province has 131 candidates admitted to various types of training, including regular military universities and colleges, second degree training, military professional training, and basic military training.
Nationwide, statistics from the Military Recruitment Board of the Ministry of National Defense show that in 2024, the number of candidates registering for university and college entrance exams increased by 61.16% compared to 2023. Military academies and schools organized direct counseling, propaganda, and career guidance at 326 high schools, an increase of 201 schools compared to 2023; compiled 7,000 copies of the document "Things to know about the Military Recruitment"; 14,000 copies of "Questions and Answers about the Military Recruitment"; organized 10 Military Recruitment consulting booths at admission and career counseling festivals.
The organization of examinations, grading, and admissions is in accordance with regulations and is absolutely safe; the average standard score for military university training increased by 1.21 points compared to 2023, equal to the top schools in the country. Military academies and schools have trained 76.32% of their target for PhDs; 92.11% for masters; 99.04% for university-level platoon-level officer training; 96.67% for military college training; 94.56% for technical and professional staff; 100% for human resources for the defense industry.
Faced with the need to innovate and further improve the quality of military service work, in the context of the entire army continuing to adjust the organization of forces towards streamlining, compactness and strength, the Military Service Board of the Ministry of National Defense has chaired and coordinated the development of documents guiding the implementation of military service work in 2025. Agencies, units, localities and schools need to deploy many synchronous and effective solutions, focusing on further promoting propaganda and career guidance in many forms and platforms, especially on mass media and social networks. Military Service Boards at all levels must create the most favorable conditions for candidates to register for the exam. Continue to deploy examination and enrollment methods according to the regulations of the Ministry of National Defense, suitable to the needs of use./.
