The Dollar Index (DXY), which measures the USD against six major currencies (EUR, JPY, GBP, CAD, SEK, CHF), stopped at 99.01 - down 0.09 points compared to May 26, 2025.

The U.S. dollar index (DXY), which measures the greenback's strength against a basket of major currencies, fell to 99.01. The euro rose 0.17% to $1.1384 from the previous session. The pound rose 0.05% to $1.3545. The dollar rose 0.18% to $142.83 against the Japanese yen.
The US dollar fell over the weekend as investors dumped the US currency after President Donald Trump once again ramped up his trade war, warning the European Union would be hit with 50% tariffs starting June 1.
That has raised concerns about the impact of the tariffs on the world economy and global trade. Trump said in social media comments that the EU was difficult to deal with and that discussions with them were going nowhere.
In a separate post, he threatened to impose a 25% tariff on Apple, which is not made in the US, as well as Samsung and other smartphone makers.
The main issue weighing on the greenback right now is a loss of confidence in U.S. policy, said Elias Haddad, senior market strategist at Brown Brothers Harriman. The ongoing trade war is forcing countries to reassess their dependence on the U.S.
