U.23 Vietnam is full of 'mysteries' on the last training day at Ba Ria Stadium

On the afternoon of November 29, the U.23 Vietnam team practiced privately and divided the team into opposing teams so that coach Kim Sang-sik could evaluate the quality of the players and finalize the list for the 33rd SEA Games.

At Ba Ria Stadium, the U.23 Vietnam team had their 6th and final training session at home before leaving for Thailand to participate in the 33rd SEA Games. Coach Kim Sang-sik let his players compete against each other in 2 halves with mixed formations. The Korean coach's intention was to test his players' ability to connect and coordinate. From there, he would have more basis to make the final decision. Due to that nature, the media was not allowed to work at this training session.

Coach Kim Sang-sik is expected to announce the list of 23 players for the SEA Games at the next team meeting, possibly after dinner on November 29 or the morning of November 30. After that, the Vietnam Football Federation will inform the media and fans.

On the morning of November 30, the team will travel to Ho Chi Minh City and have a gym session. On December 1, the team will leave for Thailand.

Coach Kim Sang-sik kept all decisions secret until the last minute. The reason is that he wanted to think thoroughly, to choose the most deserving people. Being forced to remove the names of 5 players has made him confused for many days. He shared: "This is really difficult, I lost sleep thinking to find the best squad to attend the SEA Games. I want to bring all the players, they are training and living hard, I try to be careful and find the best squad to announce tomorrow".

At the same time, coach Kim Sang-sik affirmed that the team is well prepared, there are no more injuries. Thanks to that, he is quite confident: "I have been in Vietnam for 1.5 years, achieved success with the Vietnam U.23 team in the Southeast Asian U.23 tournament, passed the Asian U.23 qualifiers. In the first time leading the team to the SEA Games, I am quite nervous, but also very excited to wait. I will try with the players to create the best results in the upcoming tournament."

On December 1, the U.23 Vietnam team will leave for Thailand. On December 3 and 11, coach Kim Sang-sik and his team will face Laos and Malaysia at the same time at 4 p.m. at Rajamangala Stadium (Bangkok).
