Vietnam U16 women's team convincingly defeated Myanmar U16, entering the semi-finals of the Southeast Asian U16 women's tournament

On the evening of August 25, at Manahan Surakarta Stadium (Indonesia), the Vietnam U16 women's team easily defeated Myanmar to advance to the semi-finals of the 2025 Southeast Asian U16 Women's Championship as group winners.

In the first half, coach Okiyama Masahiko's players created many dangerous opportunities. Minh Anh had a one-on-one with the goalkeeper (12') and a header close to the post (9'), while Yen Linh and Linh Chi also tested the Myanmar goalkeeper with long-range shots and free kicks. However, the first half ended without any goals being scored.

In the second half, the turning point came in the 55th minute when the U16 women's team of Vietnam was awarded a penalty after the ball touched their hand in the opponent's penalty area. However, Ngoc Anh's shot was blocked by the Myanmar goalkeeper. In the 68th minute, Vietnam continued to have a chance at the 11m mark and this time Hong Thai did not miss, opening the score of the match.

In the 85th minute, the U16 women's team of Vietnam was awarded a third penalty. Ngoc Anh continued to take it and this time she was successful, securing a 2-0 victory.

With this result, the U16 Vietnamese women's team finished the group stage in first place, convincingly winning a ticket to the semi-finals.
