Vietnam U20 women's team won 6-0, the only Southeast Asian representative to win all matches in the Asian qualifiers.

In the match that just ended on the evening of August 8, the Vietnamese players easily controlled the game against a completely weaker Hong Kong China. The players in red shirts could only clear the ball as far away from the goal as possible. They were lucky to have two shots that hit the crossbar from the U20 women's team in the first 20 minutes. However, in the 16th minute, Hong Kong China still conceded a goal.

And then, this team had to pick the ball out of the net from simple attacks by the U20 women's team of Vietnam. By the 67th minute, the score was 5-0 in favor of the U20 women's team of Vietnam after Luu Van scored. She took advantage of the opponent's defenders' mistakes to score the 5th goal.

U20 Vietnam is the only Southeast Asian team to win the first two matches. In the 2026 Asian U20 Women's Qualifiers, the region only has 8 participating teams. Thailand is the host so it is exempted from the qualifying round while Brunei and the Philippines withdrew. In the first round, Vietnam and Myanmar won. Meanwhile, in the second round, Myanmar was held to a 2-2 draw by Indonesia.

The other representatives of Southeast Asia all suffered heavy losses. Malaysia lost heavily, Brunei and Singapore also lost miserably, Laos lost both matches and Indonesia drew both.

With 6 points after the first 2 rounds, U20 women's Vietnam is considered to have won a ticket to the final round. In the last match against Kyrgyzstan, the team only needs to draw or not lose too much to lead the group and get a ticket straight to the final round.
