VHO - The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) said that on the afternoon of November 3 in Hanoi , on behalf of the VFF Standing Committee, VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan met to encourage the national women's team before their training trip to Japan, preparing for the 33rd SEA Games.

In terms of expertise, coach Mai Duc Chung said the team has made clear progress in strengthening their physical strength and improving their coordination on the field.

Recently, the Vietnamese women's team had a practice match with Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club I and won 3-2. According to coach Mai Duc Chung, the purpose of the match was to help the players practice, gain experience and test tactics.

In particular, Ho Chi Minh City Club I has the presence of a number of foreign players, helping the team get used to a physical playing style - something necessary when SEA Games 33 may see teams with naturalized players.

The players will have important practice matches before going to Japan for training.

Despite the victory, the strategist born in 1949 believes that the team still has many points to overcome, especially in passing, moving and communicating on the field: "We still have to improve a lot in terms of tactics. The upcoming SEA Games will be very fierce, so the whole team must improve more in each training session," coach Mai Duc Chung emphasized.

Evaluating the newly called-up group of young players, coach Mai Duc Chung said that the training time is still short so they cannot fully integrate into the common playing style and need more training time to be able to adapt to the team environment.

As planned, the Vietnamese women's team will leave for Japan for training from November 20.

Before that, the team will have 3 more practice matches with Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club and 2 amateur football teams from Bac Ninh and Son Tay localities in the last 2 weeks of training at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center.
