Victory Cup 2025 has record prize money

750 million VND will be awarded to 11 award categories of the 2025 Victory Cup. This is the most prestigious award in Vietnamese sports given to outstanding athletes and coaches of the year.

On the morning of November 5, the Department of Physical Training and Sports held a press conference to inform about the 2025 Victory Cup award.

The Victory Cup is an annual award jointly organized by Vietnam Cable Television Corporation (VTVcab), Viet Digital Sports Content and Trading Joint Stock Company (Vietcontent) and the Vietnam Sports Department, with the mission of honoring the values, achievements and noble sports spirit of Vietnam.

2025 is the 10th year the Victory Cup has been held. Previously, famous names of Vietnamese sports such as athletes: Nguyen Thi Anh Vien, Quach Thi Lan, Nguyen Huy Hoang, Do Hung Dung, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Hoang Xuan Vinh, Nguyen Quang Hai... have stepped onto the podium of the Victory Cup many times, creating a "memory museum" of Vietnamese sports.

The Cup continues to maintain 11 award categories including: Male - Female Athlete of the Year; Young Athlete of the Year; Coach of the Year; Team of the Year; Teammate of the Year; Most Beloved Athlete; Outstanding Disabled Sports Athlete of the Year; Impressive Sports Images and Moments of the Year; Lifetime Achievement Award and Outstanding Foreign Expert of the Year.

The total prize value of the 2025 Victory Cup is 750 million VND. Of which, the highest prize, 100 million VND, is for individuals and groups that win prizes in the 3 categories of male and female athletes of the year, and Team of the year.

Because the 33rd SEA Games will take place in December in Thailand, the 2025 Victory Cup organizing committee decided to finalize the nomination list for each category and conduct the voting after the 33rd SEA Games.

There are two rounds of voting, including round 1 for audiences and fans nationwide, and round 2 by a voting panel consisting of managers, experts and prestigious sports journalists.

Mr. Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet - Director of the Department of Sports and Physical Training - said: "The Victory Cup is not just an award. It is a symbol of perseverance, will to rise and Vietnamese pride in the international arena. Over the past ten years, the award has truly become a driving force and a prestigious destination for all Vietnamese athletes."

Athlete Pham Tuan Hung was awarded 25 million VND

At the announcement ceremony of the 2025 Victory Cup on the morning of November 5, the organizing committee awarded the Outstanding Athlete Overcoming Difficulties award to disabled swimmer Pham Tuan Hung. This is a prize worth 25 million VND, taken from the award of the category "Impressive images and moments of the 2024 Victory Cup".

Losing his legs in a tragic accident at the age of 2, moving completely dependent on his hands, but overcoming adversity and pain, Tuan Hung not only became a swimmer and soccer player but also inspired many people to succeed in life.

Just less than 2 years of swimming training , In 2022, the boy from Quang Ninh won a silver medal at the national tournament, then a year later a gold medal, and was shortlisted for the ASEAN Para Games where he excellently placed 4th.

Recently, Hung was on the list of 10 athletes who qualified to participate in the World Paralympic Swimming Championships. Along with his sports journey, the swimmer born in 2002 is also an energetic and inspirational digital content creator, passionate about a TikTok channel with 700,000 followers.
