Welcoming the delegation at the team's base, Mr. Tran Anh Tu - Vice President of VFF, Head of the Vietnam U23 team delegation at the tournament, thanked Ambassador Ta Van Thong for his special attention to Vietnam U23, as well as the Embassy's timely and effective support for the national teams whenever they have the opportunity to compete in Indonesia.
Head of delegation Tran Anh Tu affirmed that the whole team is maintaining a high level of determination and has made careful preparations to aim for the best results in the semi-final match.
Speaking at the meeting, Ambassador Ta Van Thong shared that despite being busy with many tasks at the Embassy, he has always closely followed the team's activities since arriving in Indonesia.
Ambassador Ta Van Thong congratulated the entire team on achieving the goal of passing the group stage with the top spot in Group B and believed that with the spirit of solidarity, concentration and dedication, U23 Vietnam will win against U23 Philippines to advance to the final match.
The Ambassador also said that although the Vietnamese community in Indonesia is not large yet, they will definitely continue to come to the stadium to cheer for the team.
This is an important source of spiritual encouragement, demonstrating the affection and trust of overseas Vietnamese in the team.
According to plan, this afternoon, July 24, coach Kim Sang-sik and his team will continue to practice to perfect their tactical plans, ready for the semi-final match against U23 Philippines, taking place at 4:00 p.m. on July 25 at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, Jakarta, Indonesia.
