The work to overcome the consequences of the flood that occurred on the morning of May 18 in Dong Phuc commune, Ba Be district is still being urgently carried out.

According to the telegram, the Provincial People's Committee requested localities to continue to closely monitor the weather situation and promptly and effectively implement disaster prevention plans. In particular, it is necessary to pay special attention to ensuring the safety of people's lives and minimizing damage to State and People's property. Localities must not allow interruptions in the leadership and direction of disaster response, especially in the process of implementing the arrangement of administrative units and organizing two-level local governments.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment is responsible for monitoring and promptly warning of natural disasters, directing localities to implement appropriate response measures to the actual situation. At the same time, coordinate to handle and fix incidents of damaged works from the previous year's storm season.

The Department of Industry and Trade, the Department of Construction and the Bac Kan Irrigation Works Management and Exploitation Company Limited are assigned to inspect and ensure the safety of hydroelectric and irrigation dams, as well as the transport infrastructure system, especially in areas with high risk of landslides. Construction project investors need to review construction conditions, ensure labor safety, and especially not let people and workers stay in watchtowers and temporary camps when there is a warning of heavy rain.

The armed forces, including the Provincial Military Command and the Provincial Police, proactively mobilize forces and means to coordinate with localities in response, search and rescue, and overcoming consequences when situations arise.

The Provincial People's Committee also requested news agencies and newspapers in the province to strengthen communication, raise awareness, and provide guidance on natural disaster prevention skills for people. Forecast information needs to be updated promptly and accurately so that people can proactively respond appropriately.

Bac Kan Provincial Hydrometeorological Station continues to improve the quality of forecasting and warning of landslides, flash floods, subsidence and extreme weather phenomena.
