Provincial People's Committee works with the Korean Women Entrepreneurs Association, North Gyeonggi branch

On the morning of August 26, a delegation from the North Gyeonggi Branch of the Korean Women Entrepreneurs Association, led by Mr. Oh Jun Hwan, Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly Member and Honorary Chairman of the Goyang City Tourism and Convention Council, paid a courtesy visit and worked with the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee.

Receiving and working with the delegation were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Canh, leaders of Departments, branches, localities, Dak Lak Province Young Entrepreneurs Association; Dak Lak Province Women Entrepreneurs Association.

At the meeting, the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee introduced to businesses and investors of Gyeonggi province's potential, strengths and cooperation opportunities in the fields of trade, high-tech agriculture , education, culture, tourism, etc.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Canh delivered a welcoming speech to the working delegation.

Speaking at the reception, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Canh emphasized that Dak Lak has strengths in agriculture, with key export products such as coffee, pepper and durian. In 2023, the province's coffee export output will reach 304,064 tons, equivalent to a value of about 760 million USD; pepper will reach 25,737 tons, equivalent to more than 111 million USD; and durian will reach over 200,000 tons, with a value of over 100 million USD. The main export markets for the province's agricultural products include the United States, the EU, China and ASEAN countries.

In recent times, the province has received attention, investment and project implementation from a number of Korean enterprises and sponsors in the province. Currently, Korea is one of the countries in the direction of enhancing cooperation of Dak Lak province. The locality always welcomes localities, organizations and enterprises of Korea to explore cooperation and business opportunities, especially in the areas of interest to the province such as: trade, tourism, culture, education, health, infrastructure development, seasonal labor in the agricultural sector, etc.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Canh thanked Mr. Oh Jun Hwan for his efforts to connect the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak province to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Go-Giang City Tourism and Convention Council, thereby opening a new chapter for bilateral cooperation, especially in the fields of culture and tourism.

The delegation presented gifts and took souvenir photos with leaders of the Provincial People's Committee.

“Hopefully, through this working trip to Dak Lak province, the delegation will learn more about the potentials and strengths of the province, thereby supporting the promotion of the image, culture and people of Dak Lak to international friends; enhancing exchange and cooperation activities with businesses in Dak Lak according to the motto of “proactive, flexible, creative, effective” to contribute to socio-economic development, improving the lives of people in the two provinces.”- Vice Chairman Vo Van Canh said.

On behalf of the delegation, Ms. Sin Young Yee - President of the Korean Women Entrepreneurs Association, Gyeonggi Branch, Deputy Head of the delegation thanked Dak Lak province for the warm welcome, and hoped that this time the delegation would explore the unique features of culture, tourism, and search for potential products of Dak Lak province to strengthen trade cooperation in the coming time; at the same time, create conditions for members of the two provinces to exchange and connect, promote cooperation and exchange of products, contributing to socio-economic development, building the relationship between Dak Lak province and Gyeonggi province to develop more and more.

* Within the framework of the working trip, the Gyeonggi branch of the Korean Women Entrepreneurs Association will exchange and sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Provincial Women Entrepreneurs Association; visit and enjoy durian at the garden in Krong Pac district; visit the processing factory of An Thai Coffee Investment and Development Joint Stock Company;

The Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association was established in 1999 under Article 13 of the Women Entrepreneurship Support Act of Korea, and is the first women's economic organization recognized by Korean law. The association carries out women's start-up projects and supports business activities and market expansion for women's businesses. The association has 19 branches nationwide with 9,300 member companies.

The North Gyeonggi Branch of the Korean Women Entrepreneurs Association was established in 2014 and is composed of female entrepreneurs from 10 counties and cities in North Gyeonggi Province. The main projects of the branch include capacity building, market expansion support, and startup support.
