Son Tay Thuong Commune People's Committee signed a cooperation agreement on science and technology development with the Center for Science and Technology Application of Quang Ngai province.

On November 20, 2025, at the headquarters of the People's Committee of Son Tay Thuong Commune, Quang Ngai Province, a signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement took place between the Center for Science and Technology Application under the Department of Science and Technology of Quang Ngai Province and the People's Committee of Son Tay Thuong Commune, Quang Ngai Province. This event marks an important first step in implementing scientific and technological research activities to serve agricultural development in the commune.

According to the agreement, the two sides will coordinate to implement activities to develop and transfer scientific and technical advances into local agricultural production.

Accordingly, the Center will take the lead in providing technical guidance on building an on-site nursery with plants such as coffee, MD2 pineapple, ginger, sweet potato, passion fruit, etc. to serve a 5.3-hectare demonstration model. At the same time, the Center will also research and transfer technology for tissue culture of disease-free banana varieties, aiming to replace about 150 hectares of old banana areas that have degenerated or are infected with disease.

With the technology of banana tissue culture, it not only helps to clean the seed source but also opens up opportunities to replace degraded banana areas, contributing to improving the quality of agricultural products and economic efficiency. In addition, the Center will send technical staff to regularly follow the area, advise on cultivation techniques and pest control for the people.

To ensure the conditions for implementation and funding, the People's Committee of Son Tay Thuong commune will mobilize people to participate in the model, coordinate funding arrangements with Tony Farm Da Lat Company to pay for technology transfer activities and purchase seedlings.

The Center is responsible for ensuring the quality of the seeds, technical processes and making transparent estimates before implementation. In particular, the agreement also establishes a mechanism for periodic "3-party meetings" every quarter between the Commune People's Committee, the Center and Tony Farm Da Lat Company to unify technical processes, purchasing standards and promptly resolve any problems arising during the implementation process.
