Bat Do bamboo shoots have many advantages such as being easy to grow, having few pests and diseases, growing quickly and being able to be harvested all year round. In particular, the stable bamboo shoot output helps people have a steady income. It is estimated that on average, each hectare of Bat Do bamboo shoots can yield 15 - 20 tons of bamboo shoots/year, bringing in an income of 50 - 70 million VND/year for each household.
In order to promote the economic efficiency of the bamboo shoots, Van Chan district has encouraged people to participate in cooperatives and cooperate with businesses to consume products stably. At the same time, the processing of bamboo products such as dried bamboo shoots and pickled bamboo shoots has also been promoted, helping to increase the value of the products.

Currently, Van Chan district has nearly 400 hectares of Bat Do bamboo shoots, concentrated in the communes of Thuong Bang La, Tan Thinh, Tran Phu, and Suoi Bu. In the spring crop of 2025, the district has newly planted nearly 30 hectares of Bat Do bamboo shoots.
