“Green dream” on Tinh Nghia island

The agricultural tourism model on Tinh Nghia island in Khe Gay village, Tan Huong commune, Yen Binh district has been and is becoming more and more evident from the idea and dream of green tourism of the island owner - Mr. Ta Huu Tinh.

Previously, on this 1.6-hectare island, Mr. Tinh planted cinnamon. But then the idea of ​​building the island into a tourist space kept growing in him. Since July 2023, he has started to turn this place into an agricultural tourism model. Electricity, fiber optic cables, construction materials, trees, etc. have taken countless efforts and capital to bring the island to life; especially, with the agricultural tourism model, choosing what to grow on the land is very important.

Visiting and learning, especially after visiting a grape growing model for tourism in Dong Anh ( Hanoi ), he decided to choose black grape and peony to plant on the island. Aiming for a tourism model associated with clean agriculture, the island owner invested in a greenhouse with a modern irrigation system, ensuring that the vineyard grows and develops in conditions of well-controlled temperature, humidity and light, while limiting the impact of pests and minimizing the use of pesticides. The grapevines he brought back to the island turned out to be very suitable for the soil and climate here.

To take care of the grapes, Mr. Tinh took the time to learn the techniques of caring for the plants, just like a true farmer. The natural conditions and the care of the growers helped the vineyard produce beautiful fruit right from the first crop. The grapes will produce two crops each year, around May and August, September.

"The vineyard in fruit season will be a highlight for visitors coming here to enjoy the green space and experience the excitement of picking fruit themselves" - Mr. Tinh shared.

To make the agricultural tourism experience of tourists here not only include vineyards, Mr. Tinh also brought Brazilian cherry trees to the island. Both the cherry trees are ready to bear fruit with a not-so-cheap investment along with small cherry trees, about 200 trees in total. "Choosing to plant more cherries on the island is to give visitors the experience of fruits that are less common in agriculture, which will bring visitors excitement" - Mr. Tinh said the reason for choosing cherries. And it is also a real fate with the lake island land, the large cherry trees have immediately given fruit seasons when they arrived on the island not long ago.

Planting trees and raising fish, Mr. Tinh invested in a floating house area to raise fish in cages, provide food and beverage services on the island and decorate it as a check-in point with clear blue water. Then the efforts of the island owner from building fruit gardens, flower gardens, ornamental plants and airy stilt houses in the overall agricultural tourism model on the island were also rewarded when Tinh Nghia island soon welcomed tourists after coming into operation.

Mr. Tinh said: "During the recent April 30 and May 1 holidays, there were days when the island welcomed up to 400 tourists; during this whole time, there were about 3,000 visitors. On average, every weekend, about a hundred tourists come here."

Mr. Tinh's idea of ​​completing the island tourism model does not stop at this island. He plans to invest in one of the two neighboring islands to turn it into a children's playground, combined with raising pigeons and rabbits; the other will be planned as a camping area. The three islands will be linked together to form a resort and entertainment complex. He plans to soon complete this idea to put it into operation before the upcoming September 2nd holiday, to make this entire tourist area larger in scale, serving more tourists.

Bringing his love for trees and land into the tourism model on the lake island, the owner of Tinh Nghia island is still continuing to make efforts every day to perfect the agricultural tourism islands according to his own ideas, so that the space of these square islands is peaceful and beautiful among the trees, flowers and the sky of Thac Ba lake.
