Hydroelectric reservoirs that open flood discharge gates include Tuyen Quang (4 gates open), Lai Chau (1 gate open), Ban Chat (4 gates open), Huoi Quang (4 gates open), Hoa Binh (2 gates open), Thac Ba (2 gates open), Trung Son (6 gates open), Ban Ve (6 gates open).

The impact of Typhoon Yagi has left severe damage to the power grid system. With the high voltage grid system, 7/9 damaged lines of the 500kV grid have been restored; 27/40 damaged lines of the 220kV grid have been restored and 77/102 damaged lines of the 110kV grid have been restored.

For the medium and low voltage grid, due to the impact of strong storms, many power lines and distribution transformer stations in many provinces and cities in the North suffered incidents, causing power supply interruptions and widespread power outages.
