Vietnamese athlete wins first prize at international marathon in Da Nang

On March 23, the 2025 Da Nang International Marathon took place with the main events for adults including Marathon (42km), Half Marathon (21km) and 5km. The competition attracted the participation of over 7,000 domestic and international athletes from 72 countries and territories.

After hours of intense competition, the athletes completed the race on the most beautiful running routes of the coastal city of Da Nang . The Organizing Committee awarded prizes to the athletes with outstanding achievements.

As a result, the first place in the men's 42km distance was held by athlete Huynh Anh Khoi of Vietnam, the second place was held by Yujiro Daidoji (Japan), and the third place was held by Le Tan Hi (Vietnam). In the women's 42km event, the first place was held by Pham Thi Binh (Vietnam), the second place was held by Le Thi Ha (Vietnam), and the third place was held by Nguyen Thi Tra Giang (Vietnam).

In the 21km marathon, Govendarajoo Vimal (Malaysia) came in first place, Asakura Kazumasa (Japan) came in second, and All Balachandran Ruveshwaran (Malaysia) came in third. In the women's 21km, Trieu Thi Binh (Vietnam) came in first place, Doan Thi Oanh (Vietnam) came in second, and Wongsorn Ornanong (Thailand) came in third.

In the men's 5km marathon, Nguyen Van Khang came in first place, Ong Marcus came in second, and Tran Minh Quy (Vietnam) came in third. In the women's 5km, Ly Mui Sau (Vietnam) came in first place, Orlova Anastatia (United States of America) came in second, and Milgate Siena (Australia) came in third.

Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Da Nang City Nguyen Trong Thao said that the 2025 Da Nang International Marathon has been a great success. After more than a decade, the Da Nang International Marathon has become one of the typical running competitions in the region, possessing the most beautiful running route in Asia. The competition has attracted many international athletes to participate, combining tourism in Da Nang over the past 12 years. In 2025, the competition welcomed more than 7,000 athletes to compete, marking a record with the participation of nearly 3,000 international athletes from 72 countries and territories. This is the highest number in 12 years of organization, the marathon with the largest number of international athletes in Vietnam to date, affirming the strong attraction of the competition.

Young people are excited to compete in the Marathon.

The contest, co-organized by the Department of Culture and Sports of Da Nang City and Pulse Active Company, continues to affirm the role of sports in connecting the community and developing tourism , contributing to promoting the image of a beautiful, friendly and hospitable Vietnam.
