Applying interdisciplinary methods in research on preventing and combating gender-based violence in cyberspace

On the morning of May 9, in Can Tho City, Can Tho University in collaboration with the University of Law (Hanoi National University), the University of Law (Hue University) organized a scientific workshop on “Methodology and methods of legal research”. The workshop was attended by many leading scientists in the field of law from law training institutions in the national law training network.

The workshop is an opportunity for researchers and lecturers in the field of legal science to review the achievements in the construction and development of legal research methodology and methods. At the same time, it opens a forum for scientists, lecturers, postgraduates and legal workers to meet, exchange and share in-depth research related to legal research methodology and methods.

Speaking at the workshop, Prof. Dr. Tran Ngoc Hai, Vice Rector of Can Tho University, emphasized that the workshop is a very meaningful activity for lecturers, researchers and students. Delegates discussed practical issues related to the Law, contributing to assessing and highlighting various social issues that need legal support; as well as contributing to building, consolidating and perfecting the law for the protection and enforcement of citizens' rights and obligations. At the same time, it is an opportunity for schools, training institutions and experts to exchange, connect, cooperate and serve the work of training, teaching - learning and research.

Delegates presented many papers, including the application of interdisciplinary methods in research on preventing and combating gender-based violence in cyberspace; analyzing the current state of gender-based violence in cyberspace, common forms and negative impacts on human rights and gender equity. From there, proposals were made to improve the current legal system, focusing on building the concept of gender-based violence in cyberspace into legal documents, digital evidence collection processes and enhancing international cooperation in addressing this issue.

In addition, the workshop also heard a report on the application of legal economics research methods in the development of anti-copyright infringement laws. Focusing on research on anti-copyright infringement in the modern context, aiming to solve key issues such as economic causes leading to copyright infringement, their negative impacts on society and optimal solutions for anti-infringement policies. Thereby, it is proposed to build a legal framework to optimize the economic aspects of rights protection and anti-infringement measures for copyright owners, contributing to the improvement of intellectual property policies, promoting cultural and social development.
