According to her, Ho Chi Minh City has always been a vibrant, creative center and constantly asserting its own identity. In that context, the publication of the book "Continuing the proud song of Ho Chi Minh City's music" by Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi My Liem has become a remarkable event, not only for researchers and lecturers but also for many artists and music lovers.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen The Ky, this is an attractive, elaborate, and practical book of music theory research. With more than 30 articles, the work focuses on three main areas: "Introducing and evaluating Ho Chi Minh City music in terms of composition, performance, reception, research, and training"; "Introducing the history of the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association, analyzing works, and portraying typical musicians" and "Providing recommendations and suggestions for the development of the city's music in the period of integration and cultural industry".

The book, written by her in an easy-to-read style, describes the musical appearance of the city after 50 years of unification, going into in-depth analysis of its characteristics: lively, heroic songs, passionate love songs, or even Pop-Rock trends, modern music programs mixed with traditional elements from Don Ca Tai Tu, Hat Boi, Northern folk songs...

And with "Continuing the song of pride in Ho Chi Minh City's music", she has continued to affirm her perseverance and loyalty to music research, especially the music of the land named after Uncle Ho. The book has also been selected by the Central Council for Theory and Criticism of Literature and Art as one of 12 works to be supported for publication in 2024 - a testament to its academic and practical value.

The book "Continuing the song of Ho Chi Minh City's musical pride" is the work of a dedicated researcher, considered a spiritual gift to the public, artists and those who love this dynamic city to celebrate the August Revolution and National Day September 2.
