Van Ninh: Acceptance of results of the project on commercial farming of sea worms in earthen ponds

Van Ninh District People's Committee has just held a meeting of the Science and Technology Council at the grassroots level to evaluate and accept the results of the project "Receiving techniques and replicating the model of commercial farming of sea worms in earthen ponds in Van Ninh District, Khanh Hoa Province" led by Master Nguyen Ngoc Y.

The project has been implemented by the Economic Department of Van Ninh district since March 2022 with the following implementation contents: Receiving the process of commercial farming of sea worms; building 2 models of commercial farming of sea worms with a total area of 2,000m2 ^of earthen ponds in Van Khanh commune; organizing training to transfer techniques to households farming aquatic products in earthen ponds. After 18 months of implementing the project, it was shown that the survival rate of sea worms was from 84.16% to 87.43%; after 5 months of farming, 1,180kg of commercial sea worms were harvested; after deducting costs, the net profit was equal to 60% of the investment cost... The project implementation unit also proposed technical solutions to improve efficiency in the process of raising sea worms. The project has been evaluated by the council, classified as excellent and proposed to be expanded in the coming time.
