VAR intervention, Brazil loses victory against Costa Rica

Brazil will play Costa Rica in the first round of Group D of the 2024 Copa America at SoFi Stadium (Inglewood, USA) this morning, June 25. Coach Dorival Junior's team needs a two-goal win to take the top spot in the group, because in the early match of Group D, Colombia won 2-1 against Paraguay.

After the opening whistle, Brazil quickly took control of the game, but the South American team could not increase the speed of the game and continuously pressurize. Costa Rica took the initiative to play a high-level defense, with a slow and steady style of play, the Central American team effectively prevented the opponent's attacks.

Unable to score, the two teams drew 0-0 after 90 minutes of play. With one point, Brazil and Costa Rica are ranked 2nd and 3rd in Group D, behind Colombia. In the second match, Brazil will play Uruguay and Costa Rica will play Colombia (June 29).
