The race was attended by athletes of all ages, from young to middle-aged. According to the organizers, many couples ran at top speed, while others were out of breath in the final few meters, but all crossed the finish line hand in hand. Although they were busy overtaking at the start, the male athletes still slowed down to finish the race with their other half.
CARE is currently implementing the “Economic Empowerment of Ethnic Minority Women in Vietnam – AWEEV” project in Lai Chau and Ha Giang provinces. Funded by the Canadian government, the project aims to directly support more than 2,600 ethnic minority women and men and reach 9,000 members of these households to improve the economic lives of poor rural women, especially ethnic minority women.
Along the racetrack in Ban Bo commune, the Organizing Committee placed many slogans and introduced the activities of the AWEEV project that have been implemented in the past. Thereby, it helps people participating in the race realize that companionship and sharing in all tasks from housework, family care to decision making, income generation... is also the secret to family happiness.
