During a business trip to Hang Pai communal house (where the first party cell of the province was established), Con Pheo village, Thuy Hung commune, Cao Loc district, while sitting at a tea shop opposite the communal house gate, we heard that in the owner's family, there was someone who had met Uncle Ho in Hanoi in 1957. The lucky and honored person who met Uncle Ho was Mrs. Trieu Thi Lang, a Tay ethnic teacher who had retired for many years.
Meeting Mrs. Lang in the small house, this year, although she is 85 years old and cannot walk, she is still clear-minded, remembering every detail of the time she met Uncle Ho. She is one of the typical students of Viet Bac school who was sent to study at the Central Mountainous Pedagogical School (Cau Giay, Hanoi). Upon receiving the news that Uncle Ho was visiting the school, all teachers and students were excited, especially the class of students who were about to graduate like her.
Holding in her hand a photo taken with Uncle Ho, she slowly told: It was the morning of June 18, 1957, Uncle Ho wore khaki clothes, rubber sandals, smiling kindly at everyone. Throughout the morning, Uncle Ho told countless stories, his voice was gentle, warm, and friendly. After the talk, our class also took a photo with Uncle Ho. It has been nearly 70 years since I have kept this photo, considering it one of the special souvenirs of my life.
Remembering Uncle Ho, Mrs. Lang still kept in mind Uncle Ho's teachings in that meeting. Uncle Ho told his children that after graduating from school, in addition to teaching students, they should form groups of women, young people, and illiterate people to teach them. Speaking of this, her voice choked up a bit, she confided: "I have followed Uncle Ho's teachings for all those years". It is known that after graduating from school, from 1958 to 1986, Mrs. Lang taught many classes of primary school students, and at the same time taught illiterate farmers, women, and young people in the area. Until her retirement, she still regularly cared for and encouraged children to go to school and study hard to become useful people for the country.
Like Mrs. Lang, Mrs. Lieu Thi Da (93 years old) from Lang Cang 1 village, Hoa Binh commune, Chi Lang district also considered the time she met Uncle Ho on February 23, 1960 in Lang Son town as one of the most beautiful and memorable memories of her life. At that time, her house was in Chu Tuc commune (now An Son commune), Van Quan district, and to get to the town she had to walk about 30 km. Therefore, she and her father walked the day before and then stayed overnight at her maternal grandmother's house in Dong Giap commune to continue on the next morning to be on time. At that time, both father and son went barefoot, wearing Tay ethnic clothes...
According to Mrs. Da, that day there were many people but when Uncle Ho signaled for order, everyone was completely silent. During that conversation, Uncle Ho advised the cadres and ethnic people of Lang Son many things. In particular, she always kept in mind Uncle Ho's advice to her sisters to also be diligent and try to learn. Listening to Uncle Ho's teachings, Mrs. Da also diligently studied and learned the multiplication tables at home and latereducated and created conditions for her 8 children to study and succeed. Currently, her children are all working in the army, the police, and participating in work in residential areas.
When she sat down to tell us about the day she met Uncle Ho, she couldn't help but be moved, then suddenly hummed the song: "Uncle Ho, do you know, behind the green bamboo hedge and the rows of areca trees, there are children who only know how to love Uncle Ho Chi Minh like children."
Mrs. Lang and Mrs. Da are two of the Lang people who had the honor of meeting Uncle Ho in 1957 and 1960. Although decades have passed, in their memories, his appearance, eyes, voice and gestures are still intact, and they always remember and follow his teachings.
During his lifetime, he always paid special attention to the ethnic minorities in the mountainous areas, including Lang Son province. During the resistance war years, Uncle Ho visited the province three times (including one official visit) in 1950, 1960 and 1961. Each time, he spent time talking to and advising the cadres and people in the area. Taking his teachings to heart, over the past time, the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in the province have united, overcome all difficulties, and promoted socio-economic development in the area.
In the movement to study and follow Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle, every cadre, party member, soldier and citizen voluntarily implements and raises their determination to learn from Uncle Ho to build their homeland rich in economy, strong in politics, and strong in national defense and security.
