VFF announces new Japanese Technical Director

On June 1, at the headquarters of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), the announcement ceremony of the new Technical Director Koshida Takeshi took place, a candidate recommended by the Professional Board of the Japan Football Federation (JFA).

Accordingly, Mr. Koshida Takeshi officially assumed the position of VFF Technical Director from June 1, 2023. Mr. Koshida Takeshi was born in 1960 and had many years of dedication to Japanese football as a player, before moving to coaching in 1995.

With experience in competition and coaching, Mr. Koshida Takeshi spent many years contributing to Japanese football as a player, before moving into coaching in 1995.

He was the head coach of the Ishikawa regional football team, the Kanazawa Sakuragaoka school football team...; and served as the technical director of the Zweigen Kanazawa club - a team competing in the J-League from 2006 to 2010. In addition, he has also been an advisor to Hokuriku University since 2013.

With experience in competition and coaching, Mr. Koshida Takeshi was trusted to participate in national coach training for the Japan Football Association (JFA) at level C, B, A courses.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Koshida Takeshi said that he was very lucky to be appointed to the position of VFF Technical Director. "I feel lucky and honored to take on this position. Vietnam is a dynamic country with a developed football industry, especially youth football. As Technical Director, I hope to contribute a small part of my strength, training the next generation of young people, helping Vietnamese football participate in the 2026 or 2030 World Cup," said Mr. Koshida Takeshi.

Sharing his philosophy, Mr. Koshida Takeshi expressed: “My teaching philosophy has always been to inspire students. Instead of just teaching the right answer, I want to inspire students to find the answer themselves. The development of the young generation is the future of the country. Coach training and strengthening the young generation are necessary to strengthen the national team.”

Becoming the Technical Director of VFF, Mr. Koshida Takeshi plays the role of lecturer at coach training courses and seminars organized by VFF; coordinates with the professional department and coaches of VFF youth teams to jointly orient and train Vietnamese youth football.

At the same time, the Japanese expert is responsible for training human resources for Vietnamese football, especially the system of young coaches, technical directors for football clubs and centers; coordinating, improving quality, updating international information as well as the most modern and advanced methods today so that Vietnamese football has a shorter approach to international football development./.
