According to BBC , Marcus Rashford expressed his desire to stay at Camp Nou after his loan contract ends in the summer of 2026. The English striker indicated that he is willing to reduce his current salary by at least 50%, equivalent to about 6.5 million euros/season.

According to El Pais , this is a number that is enough for Barca to easily register the English player in the future.

Rashford decided to take a 30% pay cut to play for Barcelona this summer. In return, the Camp Nou team will pay the English striker his entire 12.8 million euro/year income instead of sharing a percentage with MU.

However, if he wants to be bought by Barca, Rashford is expected to have to reduce his salary further. At MU, Rashford is receiving a salary of more than 25 million euros/year.

With his impressive performances in La Liga, Rashford is convincing the Barcelona board that he deserves a permanent place in the squad. Notably, Barcelona have a buyout clause for Rashford for just 32 million euros - a figure significantly lower than the 45 million euros that Manchester United are asking from other clubs.

If Rashford continues to maintain his current form, there is no reason for Barcelona not to activate this clause. In fact, after Rashford's brilliant performance in the past two weeks, the Catalan team is considering activating the clause to buy him outright in the January 2026 transfer window, instead of waiting until the end of the season.
